Ma Foi Foundation invites entries for DISHA Award for Young Achievers 2008

The Ma Foi Foundation, the corporate social responsibility arm of Ma Foi Management Consultants Ltd., is inviting nominations for the DISHA Award for Young Achievers, 2008.

 

The DISHA Award for Young Achievers is the highlight of the Ma Foi Foundation Annual Program, which aims at encouraging and recognizing the young generation with disadvantaged backgrounds, who have achieved excellence in academic or
extra-curricular activities or community services, against all odds. Instituted in 2003, the DISHA Young Achievers Award has been given to more than 40 children from across the state of Tamil Nadu.

 

The eligibility criteria for applying for the Award this year hold that the candidate should be between 10 and 16 years of age. Past recipients of the Award will not be eligible for the Award.

 

Other criteria based on which the Awards will be given include:

 

  • Socio-economic background of the candidate
  • Degree of achievement
  • Levels of participation (district / state / national level)
  • Nature of the achievement (I / II / III place), possible hurdles encountered by the candidate
  • Recommendation from the school management or community service leaders as well as a personal interview with the candidates

Interested candidates can download the application from www.ciosa.org.in and send the completed form to The Ma Foi Foundation, New No. 16, Jayalakshmipuram 1st St., Nungambakkam, Chennai-34. Every nomination must be accompanied by a brief biography of the candidate, copies of certificates to justify the candidates’ achievements as well as recommendation letters from the school teachers, community service leaders
or extra-curricular advisors. Application forms with enclosures once submitted will not be returned.

 

All applications should reach the Ma Foi Foundation on or before Sep 30th, 2008. The Award will be given away on 26th Oct, 2008.
